Ashish K, is an independent artist based in Delhi, India but he usually works
from the serene mountains of Uttarakhand, which reflects in his paintings.
Whether it’s the Birds Series “Man Pankhee”, the Mountain Series “Koh-E-Himalá
or the recent Mudra Series “Hást Mudrá”. All his paintings are, in some way
or another, expressions of his love for the natural world. He believes in the power
of collective consciousness and is always working to stay immersed in and connected to nature.
“I am not interested in walking on the well-defined
paths of the well -preserved, beautiful gardens,
but rather I do want to get lost in the undefined
trails of the forest and smell wild flowers.”
His inspiration comes from nature and also from his own thoughts about life. He holds a
bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and has immersed himself in art personally and professionally
for the past 14 years. His paintings represent the landscape of the psyche – the place
where the conscious and unconscious meet. They explore the point where our own human
nature and outside forces collide as we grapple with our place in an ever-changing
and reactive environment. They are inner landscapes and imaginary worlds.
